@redth @vancura @atsushieno @Therzok @vonhelmstein This platform is old enough to have already played out all of the jokes around tooting, right? :D

@DanRigby @vonhelmstein @Therzok @atsushieno @vancura @redth It's fascinating to me that with new social networks, there's always a bunch of posts (toots in this case) about the network. It's like we're figuring it out by talking about it.

@dmscott @redth @vancura @Therzok @vonhelmstein @DanRigby feeling like mastodon has experienced a couple of months in the network age in a week.

@atsushieno @DanRigby @vonhelmstein @Therzok @vancura @redth Yeah, going through all the stages of growth (and perhaps death) before our eyes!

@dmscott @redth @vancura @Therzok @vonhelmstein @atsushieno I'm still wondering what happens to your identity, your messages, etc, if the server you're on goes away.

@DanRigby @vonhelmstein @Therzok @vancura @redth @dmscott On Mastodon you can export and import your data and list of following people. That's the best thing the world can do for you.

@atsushieno @dmscott @redth @vancura @Therzok @vonhelmstein That still means that your "identity" is compromised. You'd have to start over in terms of followers, etc. Means you should *really* trust your server, because you can be reduced to nothing at the whim of your server admin.
